The Colorado Department of Law, POST, and Safe2Tell are pleased to announce a series of awards that will elevate the men and women in Colorado dedicated to shaping the future of law enforcement. 

The Law Enforcement Instructor Awards will be given to give law enforcement academy instructors who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and a commitment to investing in entry-level peace officers learning and growth.

NOMINATION PERIOD HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO CLOSE ON APRIL 15, 2024

Law Enforcement Instructor Awards

There are six categories of Law Enforcement Instructor Awards:

  • The Attorney General’s Instructor of the Year Award: Given to an instructor who demonstrated particular and across the board excellence and innovation in teaching and a commitment to investing in entry-level peace officers learning and growth.   • Excellence in Teaching Award – Skills Instructor: Given to an instructor who has demonstrated particular aptitude in and commitment to skills instruction. Learn more about this award and NOMINATE HERE.
     
  • Excellence in Teaching Award—Academic Instructor: Given to an instructor who has demonstrated particular aptitude in and commitment to academic instruction. Learn more about this award and NOMINATE HERE.
     
  • Innovation in Teaching Award—Skills Instructor: Given to a skills instructor who has demonstrated the use of innovative, effective, and engaging learning methodologies that help increase learning and retention. Learn more about this award and NOMINATE HERE.
     
  • Innovation in Teaching Award—Academic Instructor: Given to an academic instructor who has demonstrated the use of innovative, effective, and engaging learning methodologies that help increase learning and retention. Learn more about this award and NOMINATE HERE.
     
  • Lifetime Achievement Award: Given to an academic or skills instructor who has shown a commitment across their career to teaching cadets and investing in their learning and growth. Learn more about this award and NOMINATE HERE.
Excellence in Law Enforcement Award

The Excellence in Law Enforcement Award will celebrate at least one law enforcement officer in Colorado who has gone beyond the call of duty, has excelled within their domain, and has a commitment to improvement, collaboration, and excellence. Learn more about this award and NOMINATE HERE.

Excellence in School Safety Award

The Excellence in School Safety Award will be honoring at least one Colorado peace officer who works in schools and has shown an extraordinary level of care and compassion for students and their well-being. Learn more about this award and NOMINATE HERE.

Recognition for Colorado County Jails
