The need for leadership skills is stronger than ever. That's why the University of Denver and multiple local agencies have created a program that focuses on communication, interpersonal skills, and building trust. The Public Safety Leadership Development Program starts this October and POST will be providing grant funding, in the form of scholarships, to 25 certified peace officers who are interested in participating.
Priority will be given to small/rural law enforcement agencies. To be considered, please fill out the Public Safety Leadership Development Grant Program Application. It must be submitted to POST by the certified peace officer’s agency at least 30 days in advance of the class.
If an agency is awarded a scholarship, POST will notify the agency of the approval at which time the student may register, and the agency will need to pay for the training. POST will reimburse the agency after the student has completed the course. Agencies must submit the following to POST at time of reimbursement:
- Completed Public Safety Leadership Development Scholarship Reimbursement Form.
- Certificate of completion.
- Proof of payment.
